The work to renovate the entire Femman, a block of Nordstan in Gothenburg, has now begun. The mall will be opened up and modernized to strengthen Femman’s position in Gothenburg and strengthen Nordstan’s trade and venue.
Nordstan mall in Gothenburg is a joint venture between property companies, where office business and shopping blocks and pedestrian streets are built under one roof right next to Gothenburg’s best hubs for public transport and parking.
One of the blocks, Femman, opened its doors in 1972 and today has 60 shops, cafes and restaurants in an area of 15 500 square meters. The redevelopment will provide a better experience for the 11.5 million annual visitors. It also contributes to make the mall more attractive for new start-ups and attract new visitors. The rehabilitation will last for the years 2015 to 2017 and has started with the upper level, which is expected to be completed in early in 2016.
“We want to create the best experience for our visitors and be a natural meeting place for people of Gothenburg. Femman will open up, be given more space and be more inviting both from the outside and the inside. The environment must be new and fresh, with a focus on good fashion, cafe and restaurant. At the same time, we will give Femman a clear visual and conceptual identity, “says Daniel Massot, Head of Business Area Gothenburg at Hufvudstaden.
New on the upper level of Femman are Rituals, Odd Molly and Naked juice bar.
Gina Tricot, JC and Saint Tropez are all taking a new position in Femman.
“We are gearing up the entire mall to make sure Femman continues to be an attractive trading center in Gothenburg’s best business location, Nordstan. We want to help lifting Gothenburg and increase its competitiveness. ” concludes Daniel Massot.
