Four chains to leave Mirum after Thon takeover

Norwegian shopping center dominant Thon Eienedom entered Sweden for real last summer by acquiring five inland malls.

Half a year later the store mix is changing in one of the malls, Mirum in Norrköping. Lagerhaus, Esprit, Jack & Jones and Vero Moda closes.

Norrköpings Tidningar writes that more stores are moving out of the mall and will be replaced by Norwegian chains.

Bestseller owned Jack & Jones confirms their closure. Store manager Pontus Fasth tells the paper he is turning the store into an outlet the last months after six years in the centre.

Esprit has already closed. Lagerhaus will focus on the city centre store.

”We are not profitable in Mirum”, says establishment manager Magnus Tillsten.

Hallgeir Åndal, Country Manager at Thon, comments to the paper that Thon has a long term perspective on Mirum and some adjustments are needed. He says H&M will add a hundred square meters of store space and local service will remain unchanged.
