Intersport strengthens the Board

Swedish Intersport’s board has a new line up for the future.

”A very competent board that provides all the prerequisites for Intersport to succeed,” says Intersport CEO Ulf Kinneson.

This year, Adelis Equity has become the new majority owner of Intersport, forming an integrated retail chain. In the new Management Board are well known names like Jonas Guldstrand, Patrik Nilsson and Thommy Nilsson.

Jonas Guldstrand has experienced top positions within H & M and Patrik Nilsson  is currently President of Gant and former CEO of Adidas North America. Thommy Nilsson has previously been CEO of KappAhl and JC and currently has several directorships in the retail sector.

Jan Åkesson from Adelis Equity is the new Chairman of the company.

”We have got a good mix of skills that are just right for Intersport. I look forward to an exciting work ahead,” says Jan Åkesson.

The main owner is also represented by Gustav Bard and Erik Hallert. Former Chairman Lars Ljungälv, CEO of Swedbank in southern Sweden, and Marcus Samuelsson, former local owner of several successful Intersport stores, remains on the Board to represent minority shareholders.

”Intersport will be the best in sports and spend more than ever on the consumer and the shopping experience in the store. A clearer range, increased sportiness and knowledgeable staff are some of the main ingredients. The overall experience of the new board will be very useful in this work,” says Ulf Kinneson.
