Lidl to trial extended opening hours for Easter

With new legislations, Lidl experiments with the opening hours in Finland.

For Easter, the chain will have more extended opening hours than ever.

At Easter 2016 all Lidl stores will be open on Saturdays and holidays with extended opening hours.

In addition, eight stores in the metropolitan area will be open until 21 on Easter Monday. Stores in Kamppi in Helsinki and Tornio are also open on Good Friday.

16 Lidl stores will add extra hours on Saturday and Sunday ( 8-21 ,11-19 ). Normally Lidl stores are open on weekdays from 8-21, on Saturdays from  8 to 18 and Sundays from 12 to 18.

”During Easter the traffic is heavy. We believe that people will be happy to make food shopping at the holidays. We want to serve our customers as much as possible by keeping our stores open,” says chief operating officer Mark Henry.

Earlier this year, season-specific opening hours have been tried for the winter holiday season in Kuusamo.
