Luleå shopping street extended with new tenants

The empty Åhlens-premises in Luleå get new tenants. Diös Fastigheter replaces the department store with a local champion in fashion and a cafe – and give the city center trade an extension.
The new Hanzens’ store will also include a Gant shop-in-shop.

It was almost two years ago that Åhlens in Luleå moved one block and changed the footfall in Luleå city centre . Now comes the old premises to house the stores Hanzens and Top store and a small cafe.
Hanzens will fill up the space downstairs and Top store upstairs, along with the café.

“We are pleased to be signing an agreement with one of Luleå’s oldest clothing shops. In doing so, we extend Luleå’s main shopping street and make the city center more attractive for shopping and experiences, “says Ulf Boström, head of Diös Real Estate business area Norrbotten.

It’s a ten-year lease with the Men’s Fashion in Luleå AB regarding Åhléns former premises in Tjädern 17 in central Luleå. The contract value of the 3500-square-meter hall is about 40 million SEK.
“Having an active role in the development of Luleå city feels gratifying,” says Magnus Larsson, CEO of Men’s Fashion in Luleå AB.
“This is a great project for us. But now we get a chance to develop the Hanzens concept and go towards shop-in-shop, meaning that we can do a kind of smaller stores for each established brand. Among other things, Gant will become a shop of its own in the store, ” says Magnus Larsson to

Top store will furthermore remain at Storheden retail park.

Access takes place in April in 2016.

For Ulf Boström says that Men’s Fashion in Luleå AB has been at the front of the speculator all the time.

“We started talking to each other at the beginning of 2014, and we have always been intent on signing this lease.”
